DSAM Amends Freedom of Information Act Lawsuit

This week the Deputy Sheriff's Association of Michigan amended its' FOIA complaint in Lansing Circuit Court to include four additional counties; Mason, Chippewa, Genesee, and Menominee.  The Sheriffs and Boards of Commissioners have failed to provide the documents DSAM has requested.  To view the complaint click the link below to download a zip file containing the documentssupporting the ammendment.

Local Corrections Officers Training and Certification Information

MSCTClogo.jpgAs you may know, through the Freedom of Information Act, the Deputy Sheriff’s Association of Michigan has been requesting documents from Michigan Sheriffs and the Sheriffs’ Coordinating and Training Council (SCTC) regarding the certification and annual re-certification of Local Corrections Officers and the expenditure of training funds, both of which are governed under Public Acts 124 and 125 of 2003.

Available to DSAM members are several documents which can be downloaded by clicking the "Read More" link below that will give you a picture of how your sheriff is complying with the certification and annual re-certification as mandated by P.A.’s 124 and 125 of 2003.
