Cops Helping Cops is an organization dedicated to helping Police Officers and Deputies around the country who have been affected by natural disaster. It was founded by Undersheriff Dave Fowler of Osceola County after he witnessed the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the city of New Orleans when he went there to help rescue citizens in the days after the disaster.
Cops Helping Cops has been going back there ever since with Police Officers, Deputies and Firefighters from around the c ountry to help New Orleans area Police Officers rebuild their homes and lives. Undersheriff Fowler just returned from a trip back to New Orleans where he and other Michigan Sheriff's and Deputies helped a New Orleans Police Officer who was living in truly deplorable conditions that he was financially unable to change. A dramatic video of those conditions is available to watch by clicking the "Read More" link.
John Walsh and the producers of America's Most Wanted were so impressed by the compassionate efforts of Cops Helping Cops that they accompanied them on this latest trip and filmed the process. February 23rd at 9:00 p.m. on the Fox network, Americas's Most Wanted will air their show featuring Cops Helping Cops.
