Tactical debate: Muzzle up or muzzle depressed? Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 February 2008

Ralph Mroz from PoliceOne.com just touched off a firestorm of debate with the video training inset here where he advocates using a "depressed" muzzle position when searching a building or making an entry into a residence.

In short, this is an older tactic that was taught to protect a suspect from a negligent discharge if the Deputy or Officer was startled.

I can't say I agree with it, but it is a viable debate.

Mroz goes into more detail on his advocation of this technique in an article published at PoliceOne.com
